Alle kleuren van de regenboog - Belgium

“Our children didn't speak Dutch, but they could sing this song”

Dominique Van Hoeck

What is the song about? What does the song mean?

The song is about all the people in the world! It has a clear message of tolerance, unity, and acceptance, especially regardless of skin color or background. The rainbow symbolizes diversity and all the beauty that different colors in the world have to offer. The song encourages us not to avoid or ignore each other.

Why is the song so well known in your country of origin?

K3 is the most famous pop group in Belgium that writes songs especially for young children. The cheerful, accessible music and colorful image of K3 have made them incredibly popular. The song is often used in preschools, daycare centers, and youth activities. The combination of a cheerful beat, simple lyrics, and colorful videos makes it appealing and easy for children to sing along.

What special meaning does the song have for you?

When the song was released in 2000, we lived in South Africa. Our children didn't speak Dutch, but they could sing this song.
