My name is Zaw Htet Naing. I fled to the Netherlands in 2018. It became too unsafe in Myanmar because I belong to the Rohingya ethnic group. When I was young, I was always scared. Just like my parents. Fortunately, I was able to get an education here and find a job. It was difficult to build a new life, though, since there are few people from Myanmar in the Netherlands. In the beginning, I therefore felt very lonely. Through Facebook, I was able to keep some contact with my mother. My father fled to Thailand. My married sister still lives in Myanmar.
