Far from my Bed

In the musical series Far from my Bed we offer an artistic perspective on the collateral effects of severe conflict situations worldwide. The title refers to the Dutch expression “ver-van-mijn-bed-show,” something that happens far removed from your own world, whether literally or figuratively.

Part 1

The first edtion of Far from my Bed took place on 23 June 2024 at the StadsCarillon in the Grote Kerk on the Oude Markt of Enschede, the Netherlands. The complex conflict in the Palestinian territories and its far-reaching consequences for the affected population and the global community were expressed through sound. City carillonist Esther Schopman collaborated with sonic artist and guitarist Kia Kalhori and Oud player Azarnoosh Khoddami. Watch the audiovisual recording hier .
