On Friday, October 3, at 12:30 PM, a special Carillon Festival took place on the campus of the University of Twente. Students, staff, and alumni, along with pupils from grades 3 through 8 of primary school De Zonnewijzer <\/em>in Enschede, provided an internationally themed performance on the Campus Carillon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 14 songs performed during the event are from the countries where pupils of De Zonnewijzer<\/em> or their parents were born. Several other international children's songs, also suggested by residents of Enschede, were added to this selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the guidance of music teacher Silke Oude Elberink, the pupils worked hard to learn the songs for the Carillon Festival. They sang along to the carillon music and used boomwhackers or body percussion. About 170 children participated. The audience consisted of over 100 parents and other interested parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n\n\n\n
